To go along with my favorite holiday why not post about how I met your father/Bill

I had tranferred schools and my new roomate wanted me to go with her to a Halloween party and meet the group she hung out with. We decided to be witches and went to the Goodwill to get some black dresses. When she was at class I put the dress on to show my neighbor (an openly gay guy who I instantly became good friends with). He said "that girlfriend will not do.. get me some scissors!" When he got thru..I had the sexiest black witches dress you could imagine paired with green hose and heels..My roomate was so mad ..anyway we went to the party and I was greeted by a guy dressed in a full clown attire, his face was totally masked by all the clown makeup. We spent hours talking..me flirting cause there was something about this clown dude that grabbed my heart..When we left I just couldn't get him out of my head..saddened that maybe I didn't make that great of an impression on him. The next day walking into my economics class this guy standing in front of the door looked at me weirdly..My heart was pounding...I knew those eyes..he said "Sexy green witch?"..I said, " Bill the clown?" we walked in together and sat next to each other...end of story...soon to be 25 years later, 5 kids and a dog here we are..and he's still grabbing my heart.

My favorite holiday..."Valentine's Day" will soon be here. I'll be working but I believe Bill and I will definitely celebrate early by going out for cocktails and dinner somewhere in downtown Charlotte. Why do I love this holiday so much? Well..for the last maybe 4 years I have posted on Flickr "a message for my husband" It's just for him and I struggle for days over what I can capture with a photograph to let him know how much I truly love him. These are some of the ones from the last few years that I took ...from a "burning love" candle in my window, to my wedding rings placed on our deck and a simple handwritten note, but the message remains the same. So today I started the creative pondering of what I can capture visually for his "message" this year.

And speaking of "loved ones"...I'm so missing this "bunch"..can't wait till the next college break when I can see them all together again. They all piled in the car to please their mama as she snapped a million shots to come up with just "2" she really liked....thanks kids..I love you so much!

We went to a place called amelie's in charlotte..based on a posting from my most fav blogger jessicamcdougall I had great time..and I think Sammy liked this place as well..wonderful quaint little spot...pastries, coffee, delicious soups and sandwiches on french baguettes ...can't wait to go again..and I only got lost a little downtown..figured out that eventually I will find my way home and need to make more adventures like this and see really what a fun city I live in

So...we had a wonderful time , trip to Dillsboro, NC. The memories were good , so many pics and just a great trip.. all in less than 24 hrs. AND we finally have a family portrait ..one to be proud of ...yes..that is a turkey statue..the cabin we stayed at was named "turkey Hollow" quite fitting picture of our crazy bunch!!!

a new obsession...all things old..sammy knows what I'm talking about. hunting thru goodwill's and consignment stores for old cool stuff..lots of fun. Man I wish mom and dad hadn't got rid of all that stuff in our attic..racks of old clothes 60's and 70's stuff..what's old is new again now..I wonder if there's a word for vintage meets modern?? this obsession is spilling over into my photos as well..

So we dropped off sammy at school..very hard on miss kylie. Bill keeps telling me "CUT the cord already". Boys had a blast while we were gone. Ordered their own pizza. Yep, they too are growing up. The lone three started a jumping free for all.

I love this show..mia michaels is my favorite choreographer . It's truly amazing the raw emotion she's able to get out of these dancers. Look foward to long lingering evening meals in front of the tv and judging with the kids. I especially enjoyed this one..maybe also due to the beautiful song "Hometown Glory" by Adele. Pause my playlist and take a listen and watch.

It's been awhile since all of my kids were home together. I wanted to take some quick pics before we all went out to GG's birthday dinner. I now have a 20 year old.
That said rather depressingly...where did all the time go? Well I guess all over my face. Hate getting old but loved taking some fun pics of this goofy bunch!!
